Safari Using Too Much Memory on Mac? Diagnose and Reduce Tab-Related Memory Pressure

Measure again using the same workload

Look for an improvement in Memory Pressure and responsiveness, not a magic target number. If the Mac feels responsive and pressure is healthy, you have likely reduced a practical problem. If the numbers remain high but the Mac is responsive, keep monitoring rather than repeatedly closing useful work.

  • Safari repeatedly hangs, crashes, or will not load pages after updates and a restart.
  • The issue persists with extensions disabled and a small number of tabs open.
  • One specific website is consistently responsible for the problem.
